On, on U of K

Warning! Update! Exciting News! James' baby dedication is going to be Oct 28th at the 10:30 service. You need to be there. Also, Adam's deacon ordination is going to be that night on the 28th at either 6 or 7pm. You need to be there too. So, the 28th is going to be an extra exciting day. You know that James will have the perfect outfit for both events!
So, the Cats play tomorrow. Too bad it is only on p-p-v. Oh well. Adam needs to be writing lesson plans anyway. I am trying to finish up last minute details around the house, although I am not really in a bind, I only go back to work for one week and then I am back home for two. Then life really gets wacky. My peeps from eminence gave me a wonderful shower. It was good to see everyone, especially K$. James and I got some good loot, including teething rings, slippers, blocks, a massage (for guess who), hooded towel, walmart card, clothes and the coolests little diaper garbage bag dispenser so that I can put the dirty diapers in something that smells good before I throw them in some unsuspecting person's trash can. James' halloween costume is official, he is going to be a lobster. For those that know, I have a crustacean (spelling) thing so this costume was perfect. You know that there will be lots of pictures and video of that. I am working on getting video clips on the site, I bought the cable from best buy, I just have to have the time to do it. That is it for now.

Halelujah

It is true! We have childcare! Yee-Haw! No, it is not Uncle Rende as pictured, it is a daycare/preschool called Great Beginnings. A friend at church takes her son there and told me they had one spot in their infant room. Adam and I went to see it and really liked it. It is very well organized and has been in operation for 8 years. They moved into their current location b/c they just keep growing. It costs $120/wk, which is standard for Frankfort. So, good news! Adam is being observed by his g-town professor next week. Pray that he can get his lesson plans written and revised. Adam said that she is nice, so even if she doesn't like his lesson plans or what he does, she won't be like the mean man that observed me from g-town. Well, James and I are going to be off later to Eminence for our baby shower. He is looking forward to having a bunch of women oooh and aaah over him. He enjoys it for sure!

Monday Monday

Happy Monday from Kari and James. Actually James is sleeping in his swing right now, giving me a chance to post a new item and possible take a shower. We'll see how long this nap lasts! We are going today to visit Peaks Mill, the school that I worked at two years ago. A special happy birthday goes out to April, whe had a birthday yesterday that we celebrated at o'charleys. James slept thru the party. I am not sure what all James and I are going to do this week, our last week alone together. We do have a baby shower to attend in Eminence, but other than that, who knows. James and I will keep you updated about our adventures of course. BTW, way to go CATS!

yesterday

Yes, yesterday James turned 5 weeks old. He is such an old man! I sent the birth announcement into the paper so it should be appearing sometime. It will be in the Frankfort State Journal. James attended his first soccer game last night. Western Hills, Adam's alma mater, played Woodford Co, Adam's student teaching assignment. We had fun. My Eminence people are throwing us a shower this Wednesday. It will be good to see everyone. I am thinking of going up there early because at the early release the staff is looking at the state test scores from last year. I am sure that no one will mind if the baby is there.

If You Could Only See

More pictures have been added to shutterfly! Another collection has been created. The address is http://hyattfamily2.shutterfly.com . The password is Adam. FYI, shutterfly is a reliable tool to order pictures, so if you like the prints online you can order them and have them mailed to you. Just don't let your dog eat the package. (Rufus) No, he didn't eat the picture package, the ate the birth certificate package. James' birth certificate has a big tooth hole in the middle of it! Oh well. Peace out.

Happy Birthday to James

Well, it is James' one month birthday tomorrow. We are happy to announce that he is "chunking up" as the cardiologist said yesterday. In the month since he was born he has gained over two pounds. You heard me, James now weighs approximately 8 lbs and 10 oz! I knew he would make a comeback. Speaking of cardiologist, many of you know that James was born with a heart murmur or however you spell it. It was examined by ultrasound in the hospital and we were told it was no big deal and would heal itself in a year. Well, when we went to see the cardiologist from UK, he thinks that it is bigger than we have been told, but don't panic. He said that since James is gaining so much weight so quickly, the hole in the heart obviously is not affecting him. We go back in one month for another check-up and then we will go every 6 months for checkups. The cardiologist did think that it would take longer for the hole to close up than we had been told. He thinks it will close by itself when James is in early adolescence. So, the moral of the story is that weight gain can sometimes be very beneficial! Other than that, James and I have been working out. We go walk at the capital, especially since it has been much nicer weather. James has also started to sleep in his crib in his nursery. We have a very nice mobile and waterfall soother that help him relax. On the subject of a sitter, we are still looking. I have some names and places to call this week to ask about openings. Enjoy the pictures. I will be posting another album on shutterfly for all to view soon. BTW, GO CATS! BEAT L-VILLE! Go VOLS!

Money Money Money, Money!

Yes, you heard me. Mrs. Karen Money made a highly anticipated visit to the hyatt family home. We had a great visit and ate some good chow. Adam, James and I ate at Carino's last Thursday where we had great service. (thanks Kelley) It was wonderful to get out and enjoy a meal. Actually, Adam and I enjoyed it. James slept through it. So, I have set my going-back-to-work date. Oct 1st I will be returning to the big E for one week. Then I have two weeks off for our fall break. Adam's fall break occurs the second week of my fall break. It is kinda nice. We currently do not have a sitter for James, but are working on it. Hopefully we can announce that info soon. It has been weighing on me for sure. Please pray for that situation. By the way, James and I ventured out together today to Lexington. We had a great time, I was just nervous about his crying. So, hopefully I will get more brave about going out. That is it for us. Peace out.

Splish Splash

James is three weeks old! He visited with Nana and Grandpa Bray and then emptied his stomach contents all over the couch, himself and me. So we needed another bath. This is what we look like preparing for our bathtime. You'll notice the ultra cute burp cloth hanging from the changing table. Ms. Wendy gave that to us, and it has the cutest hippo embroidered on it. She gave us another one that has James' monogram on it. I believe her daughter Julie (who I went to school with) embroidered them. Anyway, back to the story, James actually didn't cry through the entire bath which was a first. I won't say he enjoyed it though.

We are family

We made a mistake. Instead of Daryl as a middle name, we should have used Fussy. No, Daryl is the right choice. James is just having an off day, or two. According to one of our baby guides, this is pretty normal as he is experiencing a growth spurt at this time. He also wants to eat constantly, which isn't bad except that means I can't do anything else. Hopefully we will get our schedules resolved soon. Okay, enough complaining. He is wonderful. Many of his 0-3 months clothes are now starting to fit. His arms and legs are still skinny but starting to plump up and crease a bit. Adam has discovered that James enjoys being swung (is that a word?) from side to side. Any other James-ish tidbits you ask? Well, he still hates being naked and cries during most every diaper change. One last thing for all you pregnant/just had a baby ladies reading this. Dr. Brown's bottles are the best, especially at 3:30 in the morning with your husband holding it for your baby.

Get us to the church on time

James went to church for the first time this morning. He slept through the service, along with some other people I observed around the sanctuary! Everyone wanted to see him and we tried to accommodate; we however were not ready to let everyone hold him. It was nice to be back in a place where we are loved and taken care of by many many people. James' girlfriend, MacKenzie, did not make it to church today. Hopefully they will be dedicated together in one of the upcoming Sundays. We will post that date in case people want to come to that. For all that do not know, MacKenzie was born three days after James but her momma and I were in the hospital at around the same time. We were hoping that would happen; it was just earlier than expected. We are going to meet with a potential sitter for James soon. Please pray that this works out because we have heard wonderful things about this woman and we really want James to go there. FYI, waking up an hour earlier than usual to get to church on time was not enough. Next week we will rise an hour and a half earlier.
