Our Sweet Baby James is here

Our sweet baby James Daryl was born today at 12:19 pm. He weighs 6lbs 9ozs. We have yet to get the official measurement on his length, but should have it soon. Like everything else that has come with getting James here, God had some challenges in store for us. When we arrived at the hospital last night for them to begin inducing labor Kari's blood pressure got very high. The medicine they gave her to prevent seizures made her feel pretty sick. Then her blood pressure dropped dramatically this morning when they gave her the epidural. Despite the struggles with the medications, James came pretty quickly after the doctor broke her water this morning a little before 8:00. Both kari and James are doing well after a nice, long nap this afternoon. If all goes well, and Kari's blood pressure stabilizes, we should get to go home on Saturday. James is perfect. He has his mother's chin and my long fingers and toes. We thank God for bringing us this far, and everyone for your sustaining prayers.
